MY STORY

Paige Donnell is currently in her 5th year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University.  In May 2016, she will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus in lighting design.  Paige has also studied in Rome, Italy, where she worked towards her minor in Architecture.  She is currently a member of the Penn State Chapter of IES (Illuminating Engineering Society).

 

During the past two summers, Paige has worked for two nationally recognized firms within her field of study. She interned for  Tillotson Design Associates, a lighting design consulting firm, in New York, NY, during  the Summer of 2014.  More recently, she worked for a large architectual engineering firm, SmithGroupJJR, in their lighting design studio in Detroit, MI.  These past experiences have provided Paige with a unique look on the industry, both from a consultants viewpoint and as a member of an integrated design team of many disciplines. 

 

Paige was the recipient of the Besal Lighting Education Fund Schoolarship Award as well as the Project Candle Outstanding Performance in Lighting/Electrical in 4th Year AE Class Award in Spring of 2015. She was also awarded the Penn State Leadership in Sustainability Award, the Builders Association of Central PA Schoolarship, and the Henrietta Hankin Foundation Schoolarship.  Along with a team of Penn State students, she also placed first place at the National Association of Home Builder's Reseidential Construction Competition.

 

Along with lighting design, Paige also enjoys music, dancing, rock climbing, art, and volenteering.  Most importantly, she enjoys surrounding herslf around family and friends.
